About the Preschool

St. Luke’s Preschool is a professionally staffed, state-licensed outreach of the church that has been serving families in Fort Collins and the surrounding area for more than 40 years. We provide a positive first school experience in a Christian environment. Our curriculum, the Core Knowledge Preschool Sequence, assures that children leave our preschool prepared for kindergarten and later learning.

Our Classes

We offer three class choices. Our classes begin the Tuesday after Labor Day and end the Friday before Memorial Day. In general, we follow the Poudre School District (PSD) calendar for days off. We also follow the PSD kindergarten eligibility cut-off date of September 15. Primary classes are for children who will be three years old.  Our Pre-Kindergarten classes are for children who will be four years old. If you wish to enroll your child and he or she will turn three or four after September 15 but by October, please call to discuss your child's readiness for our program.

Enrollment for the next school year begins in January for current families, alumni families and families of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. New families begin enrollment in February. Enrollment is ongoing until classes are filled. For more information or to schedule a visit to the preschool, please call 970-493-7515 or contact the Preschool Director via e-mail.

Primary Class
Tuesday/Thursday: 9 - 11:30 am

This primary class is for children ready to explore and play with others two mornings a week. Children will begin to develop their social skills and other early school readiness skills in a safe, nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment. Free play, music, art and other sensory activities, outdoor play, snack, story time and show-and-tell are all a part of our daily routine. We accept a maximum of 18 children in this class with a staff of three full-time teachers.

Pre-Kindergarten Class
Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 9 am - Noon

This pre-kindergarten class is for children who will be eligible to attend kindergarten the following year and/or have completed one of our primary classes. We will continue to focus on developing social skills as well as skills that prepare your child for kindergarten and later learning.  Monthly field trips and small group activities are added to our extended class time.  We accept a maximum of 24 children in this class with a staff of three full-time teachers.

Combination Primary/Pre-Kindergarten Class
Monday/Wednesday/Friday: 12:45 - 3:45 P.M.

This multi-aged class is for families of either primary or pre-kindergarten children who prefer an afternoon program. The children spend a portion of each class interacting as a large group and also separated by age groups. Curriculum and activities for each group will be the same as our morning classes. We accept a maximum of six primary and 16 pre-kindergarten children in this class with a staff of three full-time teachers.

Pre-Kindergarten 4th Day Option
Tuesday: 12:45 - 3:45 pm

This class is for families that wish to have their pre-kindergartener attend a four-day-a-week program. Children who attend either our morning or afternoon pre-kindergarten class are eligible. This class is especially appropriate for children who are ready to focus a bit more on early reading and writing skills and enjoy project-based learning. We accept a maximum of 12 children in this class with a staff of two full-time teachers.
