Worship Ministries

Are you inspired when you worship at St. Luke’s and do you yearn to experience the liturgy on a still deeper level? There are many ways to join in actively leading our services, or preparing for them, or following up with those who are shut in and cannot attend in person.

If you are curious about becoming an Acolyte, Chalice Minister, Lector, Usher, or Greeter, contact Larry Meger to learn more about the meaningful ways to go deep in worship. Youth and adults are welcome!

Serving at Worship

Acolytes

Would you like your 6 to 18-year-old to deepen their faith, to learn more about worship in the Episcopal tradition, and to help lead our services? Our acolyte ministry is a great way to help our young people explore their faith, learn our rituals and practices, and grow in leadership and community. If you are interested, please contact Larry Meger.

Eucharistic Ministers

Lay ministers who are trained and assist the clergy in leading services and distributing communion in worship. If you are interested, please contact Larry Meger

Greeters & Ushers

People who greet everyone entering the church, help them find a seat and assist in receiving the offering during worship services.

Lectors

Readers who give life to a passage of sacred scripture or offer prayers in our worship services. If you are interested, please contact Larry Meger

Serving to Prepare or Follow-Up on Worship

Altar Guild

The Altar Guild is a lay ministry which serves God by preparing the Sanctuary for worship, maintaining and caring for the sacred vessels, altar linens, and vestments, and serving the clergy and the parish.

St. Luke’s Altar Guild works as four teams, rotating weekly.  Each team meets on Friday or Saturday to do cleaning and serves at the Sunday and weekday services of the respective weeks.  Altar Guild is a ministry which can “fill the cup” while working and serving God and St. Luke’s.  If you are interested in becoming a member, please email Jana Parker.

Altar Flowers

Have you ever wondered about the beautiful altar flowers on Sundays, and how to donate some in thanksgiving or in memory of someone you love?

It's beyond easy! Locate the Altar Flower chart on the bulletin board on the left as you turn to go down to the Parish Hall. Then choose the date you would like to give flowers. There are two slots per Sunday and there are many dates still open. Sign your name and the name of the person you wish to be mentioned in memory of or in thanksgiving for. You will be billed by the bookkeeper for $35. You can also do this online here.

Honor someone you love and beautify the sanctuary on that special Sunday. Thank you for your support of this important ministry. If you have any questions, please contact the office at office@stlukesfc.org
